Making Change

So here we are, 6 and a half months since opening and I am just sitting down to write the blog post I had intended on writing in March!

What a crazy time it has been, we have lived and breathed Kerbed (and continue to do so!) since we started planning expanding into a unit some time ago...

Kerbed was established in 2013 after a redundancy forced a decision that we (James and Becci) had been toying with for a little while. We spent 3 years offering a mobile service, quickly outgrowing our first van and needing to upgrade to a larger model before thinking about moving into permanent premises...

Many of our customers liked the convenience of a mobile service and same day turnaround. However, we were noticing the increase of diamond cut wheels entering the market and consequently, the increase in enquiries we were turning down as a result.

We started looking into our options for expanding into premises, embarked on a couple of research visits and decided to move forward with it. We began making plans for turning this dream into a reality (with the help and advice from Steve at Advice4Business). It took a little while longer than we’d hoped to get the expansion under way, as I took some time out to have our 3rd (and final) baby and also struggled to find the right premises. Mackleys was always our preferred location as the units are a good size, with good links to the A27/A23 and conveniently, it is not too far from home. We weren’t fussy though, and looked in various areas. Nothing was quite right, and just as we were settling on one in Burgess Hill, Unit 23 Mackley Industrial Estate became available which was perfect for what we needed - it was fate!

Fast forward to today, the unit is a hive of activity with a great team working with us helping to grow the business. Rather than a mobile service, we now offer powder coating and diamond cut refurbishments using our specialist equipment. There is plenty of parking so you can leave your car with us, and for those of you that can’t be without your car for a couple of days, we hope to soon be offering a courtesy car service.

Thanks for all your continued support, custom and social media interaction. Without which, none of this would have been possible.

I’ll write further updates again, but for now, keep up to date with what`s happening by following us on Facebook (/kerbedalloywheel) and Instagram (@kerbedsussex).
